Three rising senior English literature majors have received significant awards to support research this summer on their honors projects:
Manal Saleh has been awarded a Katherine L. Krieghbaum Award for “Examining the Translation of Legal Discourse to Drama in Early Modern Witch Plays,” supervised by Prof. Kasey Evans. The award's $4,000 stipend will support Manal’s research into witchcraft trials and early modern drama.
Alana Basil and Caroline Brown each won University-wide Undergraduate Research Grants. Caroline was awarded $3,000 to work with Prof. Harris Feinsod on her project, “Representations of Seafaring Women.” Alana received the same amount to support her research into “African Adventures in Victorian Literature,” supervised by Prof. Jules Law.
